Johannes Pointner

I am a researcher, designer and teacher concerned with space, technology and knowledge. My main interest is how digitalization transforms spatial logics and creates more complex spaces based on interaction and collaboration.

Currently, I am working as a research associate at New Practice / Design & Computation, a new transdisciplinary master's program at the University of the Arts Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin. There I am leading the research project Raumlabore (funded by Stifterverband ) in which a flexible, interactive and hybrid working environment is implemented to respond to the dynamic demands of transdisciplinary teaching and learning.

Parallel to these practical implementations, I write papers on how the digital transformation affects knowledge spaces and libraries (Research Gate ). The foundation for these investigation were laid in my MA thesis Ideathek, which explored the question of how design can create complex knowledge spaces based on hybrid collaboration.

While still a student, I initiated and coordinated several formats at the University of the Arts Berlin that were dedicated to interdisciplinary exchange between faculties (UdK Open Call or here ).
